In honour of Dutch Arctic explorer, Willem Barentsz, our jasmine and mandarin botanicals are inspired by his quest for a Northeastern trading route to China by way of the sea.

Distilled in small batches in London, our latest gin is delicately infused with natural mandarin peel and exotic jasmine flowers for a distinctively smooth and fresh taste.

The creamy texture of the rye provides a longer, rounded finish, whilst wheat adds complexity and brings out sweeter notes, which complement the fresh taste of natural mandarin peel and signature exotic jasmine flowers.

TASTING NOTES

NOSE:

Unsurprisingly, mandarin is the first thing that greets the nose. However, it is not an excessively sweet and juicy note, more like someone peeling the skin off a fresh piece of fruit next to you. Zest and bittersweet citrus oils bounce off a faint aroma of floral jasmine, ending with a whisper of cinnamon.

TASTE:

The first sip is aromatic and fresh with a bright but controlled sweetness giving way to handfuls of fragrant jasmine. The tarter, zesty orange notes come through, supported by the nutty-sweetness of an angelica, liquorice, almond combo. The mandarin is certainly the main feature, with juniper nudging it along happily from the rear.

The secret to Barentsz Gin comes from a unique marriage of Golden Rye and Winter Wheat. The creamy texture of the Rye gives a longer, rounded finish. Wheat adds complexity and brings out sweeter notes which complement the Orange Peel and our signature Exotic Jasmine Flowers. Our Pioneering Spirit is pot distilled in small batches to guarantee our distinctively smooth and superior taste.

Synonymous with the spices found on his voyages, this is a gin made with juniper, jasmine, coriander seed, angelica, orange, almond, liquorice, cassia and orris root.
